Man United’s pursuit of Mason Mount has stepped up over recent weeks, with latest reports claiming that a deal in principle has been agreed with the Chelsea star.
However, United will still need to agree on a fee for the midfielder with Chelsea when the transfer window opens. The Telegraph is reporting that the Red Devils will table an initial $55 million bid.
Mount quizzed over Man United transfer at F1
Mount joined current Chelsea teammates Joao Felix and Ben Chillwell at the Spanish Grand Prix over the weekend, and was quizzed over his potential switch to Old Trafford by F1’s Sky corresponded Martin Brundle.

Brundle claimed that his Chelsea and England teammate Chillwell told him he was going to Man United, but Mount just smiled at the reporter before changing the topic to the Formula 1 action in Barcelona.
The 2022-23 campaign was a disappointing one for Mount, as he managed just three goals across 34 matches in all competitions. However, United remain interested in adding the 24-year-old to their squad as a long-term replacement for Christian Eriksen.
