Manuel Ugarte set to join Marco Asensio in French capital
The Parisians are set to make a double swoop along with Spanish winger Marco Asensio, with whom Ugarte shares the same agent, Jorge Mendes.
Chelsea had joined PSG in the race and held talks with the Uruguayan last week, but according to Romano, Todd Boehly’s side have now pulled out with the Blues unwilling to pay what they consider to be well over Ugarte’s market rate.
Personal terms have already been agreed between PSG and Ugarte as talks continue with Sporting Lisbon over the payment method. It is believed that PSG are likely to start paying Ugarte’s release clause in the summer of 2024 and continue to do so in installments over the next five years.
