Liverpool have completed the much-anticipated signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion for a figure of $43.5m.
The Reds have this morning triggered the Argentinian’s release clause to sign the midfielder after medical tests were completed yesterday in the North West of England with the permission of the Seagulls.

The deal has been confirmed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has confirmed that the documents are being signed today with an official announcement expected later this afternoon.

Midfield maestro Mac Allister was initially believed to cost Liverpool around $75m but those early reports went on to be well far off the mark, with the Anfielders only having to pay just over half of that predicted figure now.
