Harry Maguire’s time at Manchester United looks set to come to an end this summer. However, the United skipper could be handed an unlikely route out of Old Trafford.
It has been reported by the Telegraph that Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up making a move for the England international, and it is believed that a deal for the central defender could play a part in keeping hold of Harry Kane.
Maguire attracting transfer interest from Tottenham
Maguire’s place in the United team has been taken throughout the second half of the season, as the England defender has fallen quickly down the pecking order following the arrival of Erik ten Hag.
His lack of game time has also led to concern from England boss Gareth Southgate, who admitted that Maguire needs to be playing regularly if he is to play a part at next summer’s EUROs.
The Red Devils have been pushing for Maguire’s exit since before the World Cup, and Spurs could use the defender’s arrival as a way to force Kane to remain in North London.
The Spurs star is a huge admirer of his England teammate, and has pushed for the club to sign the 30-year-old for the past 12 months.
