Manchester United appear willing to make a move for England and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, regardless of whether David De Gea agrees to sign a new deal.
United have been long-term admirers of the Toffees stopper, and his ability to play out from the back is a factor that could entice Erik ten Hag to make his move for the 29-year-old.
Pickford attracting Man United interest
The Red Devils remain keen on adding to their options in the goalkeeper position this summer, as they look to add competition for the number one spot. It is likely that De Gea will agree to a new deal at the Theatre of Dreams, but that isn’t going to stop United from making a move for Pickford, according to The Sun.
The England international is reportedly United’s top target for a new goalkeeper this summer, and the Toffees could reportedly offload the national team number one for a fee of $30 million.
Pickford is keen to take his next career step, as the goalkeeper has aspirations of playing in the Champions League. United could offer that opportunity after dropping their interest in Leeds United’s Illan Meslier.
