Manchester City are still keen on adding RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol to their squad following their historic treble-winning campaign.
Gvardiol, 21, has been on Pep Guadiola’s radar for quite some time and scored three times in 41 appearances for the Red Bull-owned club, including against City in a 1-1 draw back in February in the Champions League.
Josko Gvardiol still on Pep Guardiola’s summer wishlist
But according to British Radio station talkSPORT, RB Leipzig will still demand a figure of $95m for the central defender who can also play as an auxiliary left-back if required, with central defenders Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji having to fill in for City there recently.
It is likely that Joao Cancelo has played his last match for the club, and with Sergio Gomez not deemed ready by Guardiola to play important Premier League fixtures, there is a strong chance that Gvardiol could play more of his first-team football on the left-hand side than in a central position, with Ruben Dias and John Stones seemingly undroppable currently.
