Manchester United and Liverpool will lock horns this summer, with both Premier League rivals interested in making a move for Italian EURO winner Federico Chiesa.
Liverpool has been the front-runner to complete the deal, with renewed interest from Old Trafford could scupper Jurgen Klopp’s plans with the promise of Champions League action.
Man United monitoring Chiesa
The Red Devils have been interested in the Italian winger for a number of seasons, but their interest cooled last summer due to Chiesa’s recurring issues with niggling injuries.
However, they have been enticed to increase their interest following the Juventus winger’s excellent finish to the 2022-23 season. Chiesa is one of a number of options being assessed by United in the forward position, but there is clear concern surrounding the fact that he has missed over 60 matches since the start of the 2021-22 season.
Liverpool remain in pole position, according to Tuttosport, but Newcastle could also reignite their interest in the Serie A star alongside Manchester United in the race for the winger.
