Tottenham are reportedly unwilling to match the $45 million asking price set by Brentford for goalkeeper David Raya.
The decision by the North London club has piqued the interest of Manchester United, who remain interested in making a move for the 27-year-old.
Man United given Raya hope after Tottenham hesitance
Tottenham’s reluctance to match the valuation has opened the door for Man United to make their move. The Red Devils are interested in adding a goalkeeper this summer, but it isn’t seen as a priority position.
United have tracked Raya’s progress throughout the season, and could make a move regardless of whether David De Gea signs a new deal, according to The Telegraph.
However, other reports have claimed that Raya’s move to North London is closer, as it was revealed that personal terms between the Spaniard and Spurs have already been agreed.
United have already shortlisted a number of options in the goalkeeper position, including Everton’s Jordan Pickford and FC Porto’s Diogo Costa.
