Newcastle United look set to finalize their interest in Arsenal full-back Kieran Tierney.
The Magpies will reportedly make an opening bid for the Gunners left-back over the weekend, according to the latest reports at Football Insider. Newcastle head the queue in the race to sign the Scottish international.
Newcastle to make opening Tierney bid
Tierney is considered to be among the key summer transfer targets for Eddie Howe’s side this summer. The Magpies will be looking to upgrade on their full-back positions ahead of a campaign in the Champions League.
Tierney is reportedly willing to move to the North-East, as he would be keen to live nearer his home. Newcastle have a number of other options in the left-back position that they are also assessing should their move for Tierney fall through.
That includes a move for Borna Sosa. However, Tierney is their preferred option to strengthen the position, and the Gunners aren’t believed to stand in the way of the left-back should their asking price be met.
