Manchester City have opened contract talks with Kyle Walker in an attempt to put off interest from German champions Bayern Munich.
According to The Daily Mail’s Simon Jones, it would be Walker’s preference to stay at the Etihad Stadium where he has won 14 major trophies since arriving at City in 2017.

The German champions had entered negotiations with the 33-year-old over a $20m transfer this summer but City are trying hard to extend Walker’s deal which is set to run out in 12 months’ time.
Following his treble-winning season with the Blues, there was a growing expectation that Walker was set to leave the club for a new challenge this summer but there is growing confidence at the Etihad Stadium that Walker will sign a new deal.
Speaking after City’s Champions League final win against Inter Milan on 10 June, “We couldn’t work as hard as we did all season to throw it away. The lads dug deep. I got a silver medal last time, so to have a gold one is fantastic.”
