Arsenal have shortlisted Everton midfielder Amadou Onana as a potential target with the Belgium international ready to leave the Toffees.
Onana has only spent one year on Merseyside following his move from French side Lille last summer and according to Daily Mirror reporter Jacob Leeks, the 21-year-old is “very unhappy” with life at Everton.
Everton star unsettled at Goodison Park
The young Belgian is still believed to be behind the pecking order of Declan Rice and also Southampton break-out star Romeo Lavia in Mikel Arteta’s potential candidates to strengthen a midfield that is set to lose Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey this summer.
Onana particularly impressed against the Gunners in a 1-0 home win last season at Goodison Park and with money tight this summer and manager Sean Dyche in desperate need of strengthening a weak-looking squad this summer, it would not come as a surprise if Onana is used as a makeweight before 1 September.
