Manchester United could be willing to enter a bidding war with Real Madrid this summer, as both European giants are chasing a move for Inter Milan wing-back Federico Dimarco.

The 25-year-old was a standout star for the Nerazzurri during their run to the Champions League final in 2022-23, and both the Red Devils and Real Madrid are interested in acquiring the wing-back.

United already have two strong options at left-back, with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia presenting direct competition. However, Erik ten Hag is a huge fan of the Italian international, and believes he could slot in across a number of positions in the backline.

The latest reports in the Independent have claimed that both United and Madrid have made initial contact with Inter over a potential move, and the Italian giants could be willing to cash in on their star due to their financial issues.

Real Madrid are also in the market for a full-back this summer, as the Spanish giants have been left unimpressed with the performances of Ferland Mendy.

Dimarco’s stock continued to rise over the weekend, as he scored in Italy’s third-place showdown with the Netherlands in the Nations League.
