Medical staff from Newcastle United are currently flying to Romania to arrange a medical for midfielder Sandro Tonali ahead of his move from AC Milan.
Despite already being 23 years of age, Tonali is currently competing for the Italy under-21 side in the European Championships which is being held by joint hosts Georgia and Romania.
The Milanese midfielder is eligible as he was 21 at the beginning of the qualification stages and according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle staff want to secure a deal as quickly as possible to prevent any chance of the deal being hijacked by another club.
Exactly as they did for Bruno Guimarães deal in Brazil, Newcastle will complete the first part of medical tests for Sandro Tonali in Romania. ⚪️⚫️⤵️🩺
