Tottenham are set to end their search for a new goalkeeper with the signing of Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.
The 26-year-old’s career has risen rapidly in the last couple of seasons since his move to the Tuscan-based outfit in 2021 from Cagliari and his performances last season won him rave reviews from fans and pundits alike including an astonishing triple save against Roma back in February.
Guglielmo Vicario set for Spurs switch
Vicario has this season been named in Italy’s national team squad by manager Roberto Mancini on several occasions but has failed to make an appearance for the Azzurri as of yet.
And according to Sky Sports, Spurs have already verbally agreed a fee of $22m for the shot-stopper with Empoli after failing to make progress with London rivals Brentford refusing to budge from their $50m valuation for number one David Raya who only has one year left on his current deal.
