Serie A giants Inter Milan have agreed personal terms with Chelsea’s veteran skipper Cesar Azpilicueta ahead of a potential summer move.
The Blues club captain has spent 11 years at Stamford Bridge since arriving from French club Marseille but now the long-standing defender is ready for a new challenge and move to last season’s Champions League finalists.
Cesar Azpilicueta set for San Siro?
Time will tell if Azpilicueta is allowed to move to the San Siro from Chelsea, with new Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino already in the process of his summer clearout with N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Mateo Kovacic already out of the Stamford Bridge exit door.
Fondly known as Dave to many Chelsea fans due to the difficulty of pronouncing his surname, Azpilicueta has one more year left on his current deal in West London but has already agreed to a two-year deal with the Nerazzurri ahead of a summer move, with Athletic Bilbao not seen to be a realistic option despite the defender’s Basque origins according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Understand Athletic de Bilbao is not concrete option for César Azpilicueta. Personal terms agreed with Inter and no intention to consider other proposals, as of now. ⚫️🔵🇪🇸 #Inter
