Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with Wolfsburg over the signing of Netherlands under-21 captain Micky Van De Ven.
Van De Ven has impressed Spurs scouts enough to make a move for the Dutch central defender following his first full season at the top level with the Bundesliga outfit.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, a verbal offer is set to be submitted by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy with the 22-year-old believed to be keen on a move.

Central defense was a problem position for Spurs last season with Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, and Cristian Romero all struggling at times last year.
And with the permanent transfer for last season’s on-loan center-back Clement Lenglet seemingly being put on hold for the time being, Van De Ven is seen as a priority signing for Spurs right now.
Wolfsburg will not let one of their star assets leave on the cheap, however, with the Germans proving themselves to be difficult negotiators throughout the summer saga which eventually saw Kevin De Bruyne move to Manchester City for $63m after a two-month-long tug-of-war back in 2015.
