Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has had his transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli confirmed by the club’s official social media platforms.
The 31-year-old leaves the Blues after three years in West London which included picking up a Champions League winners medal back in 2021, where he conceded just twice in the club’s seven knockout matches during their run.

Edouard Mendy leaves Stamford Bridge after three years
The Senegalese number one has signed a three-year contract with Al Ahli for $20m and will join his former Chelsea teammates Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante in the Saud Arabian Pro League next season- with winger Hakim Ziyech expected to join them next week.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Mendy underwent a successful medical on Monday and will earn a base salary of $12m a year plus $3m in add-ons.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Mendy stated, “Although it’s time for me to turn a new page. I sincerely wish the club continued success with the new owners and numerous titles in the years to come.”
