Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai wants to move to Liverpool this summer from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old has proved his quality throughout his time in Germany with the Red Bull-owned club, scoring 10 goals in all competitions in each of his previous two campaigns following his move from RB Salzburg in 2021.

Liverpool and Leipzig are already in dialogue after completing a loan switch that will see Fabio Carvalho move in the other direction, and according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Reds are ready to push ahead to try and secure a deal whilst the Hungarian’s $75.9m release clause is still active in his contract.

Szoboszlai, who can play as a winger cutting in or as a fixed number-10, is believed to want to move to Anfield this summer according to Sky Sports’ Melissa Reddy after fellow suitors Newcastle United dropped out of the race.
