USMNT right-winger Brenden Aaronson is set to join Champions League outfit Union Berlin on a season-long loan from Leeds United.
The 22-year-old struggled to make a real impact during his debut season in England and was unable to add to his single Premier League goal against Chelsea back in August.

But as reported by The Athletic’s Tom Bogert and Phil Hay, Aaronson has been offered the chance of Champions League football with the German capital city club, who will be playing in European football’s premier competition for the first time in their history next season after a fourth-placed finish last term.
Aaronson will join fellow USMNT teammate Weston McKennie out the Elland Road exit door following his eye-raising $35m transfer last summer.
Despite being only 22, Aaronson has already earned 29 caps for the USMNT and will be following in the footsteps of national side teammate Jordan Befok at Union Berlin.
As a youngster at Philadelphia Union, Aaronson excelled, winning the 2020 Supporters’ Shield, and was named in the MLS Best XI in 2020.
