39-year-old legendary midfielder Andres Iniesta is wanted by MLS side Inter Miami as they continue their Catalan revolution this season.
The news comes during The Herons’ nine-game winless run in the MLS which sees the club rooted to the foot of the Eastern Conference.
Andres Iniesta available on a free transfer
According to the Spanish news outlet Rac1, new Inter manager Tata Martino wants to re-sign the midfielder who called time on his five-year spell in Japan with Vissel Kobe last month.
And during his farewell press conference, Iniesta suggested he still wanted to continue playing well into his forties at the highest level possible saying back in May, “I want to keep playing and then retire while I’m still active. I want to find a place where I can eventually retire”.
If Iniesta moves to Inter Miami, he would join up with former Barca teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets- with fellow ex-Catalan full-back Jordi Alba also set to make a decision on his future soon.
Iniesta reportedly also has offers on the table from Saudi Arabia but is believed to favor a move to Florida with a decision expected in the next few days.
