Inter Milan have shortlisted Turkish defender Merih Demiral as a potential summer signing from Serie A rivals Atalanta.
Demiral, 25, has become somewhat of a journeyman since leaving Fenerbahce as a teenager but seems to have finally found a home in Bergamo, performing excellently for La Dea for the past two seasons.
Inter Milan manager Simeone Inzaghi keen on Demiral
The Nerazzuri want to sign a new central defender after missing out on the signature for Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta who is bound for Atletico Madrid.
And according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Inzaghi wants a new spine to his side after losing Marcelo Brozovic to Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr earlier this week and is keen on Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi and re-signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.
Demiral was signed for $22m only last season and with three years still left on his current deal at Atalanta, cash-strapped Inter are expected to have to fork out at least $35m for the Turk.
