Manchester United could step up their interest in Brighton’s Robert Sanchez as they weigh up goalkeeper options following the expiration of David De Gea’s contract.
The Red Devils remain in talks with Inter Milan over a potential move for Andre Onana, but United see Sanchez as a more affordable option.
Man United assesses move for Robert Sanchez
Brighton appears willing to offload the Spanish international, as he fell out of favor toward the end of last season under Roberto de Zerbi. The Seagulls have also recently signed goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen from Anderlecht.
United are still open to a number of options, with an extension for De Gea still on the table. Erik ten Hag’s preferred choice is a move for former Ajax star Andre Onana, but the Red Devils appear unwilling to meet Inter’s $60m asking price.
According to reports in the Daily Mail, Sanchez is a more affordable option for United this summer, with Brighton willing to accept a bid in the region of $35m.
