Newcastle United could be set to test the resolve of Crystal Palace this summer, as they have shown an interest in Marc Guehi.

However, the Magpies are reportedly unwilling to meet the $70m valuation of the defender set by the Eagles, according to Football Insider.

Newcastle remain in the transfer market this summer, as they look to enhance their squad ahead of their return to the Champions League. Eddie Howe is keen on adding another central defender to his squad, and Guehi is among their top targets.

However, the Magpies have been quoted a price of nearly $70m for the England international after another impressive season in the top-flight with Palace.

The Eagles have increased the asking price over recent months after the 22-year-old broke into the England squad. He has played 82 times for Palace since moving to the club from Chelsea in 2021 for a fee believed to be in the region of $28 million.
