Arsenal have tied down defender William Saliba to a new long-term contract after a fantastic debut Premier League season.
The 22-year-old was a key part of the Gunners’ success last season and following an injury in the final third of the season, his absence was clearly identifiable.
William Saliba extends stay at Arsenal
Saliba initially joined the Gunners back in 2019 but loan spells at French clubs Saint-Etienne, Nice, and then Marseille delayed the Frenchman’s opportunities at the Emirates Stadium. Deemed finally ready last season by Mikel Arteta, Saliba was one of the league’s standout central defenders and has been rewarded with a new four-year deal until June 2027.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Saliba signed the contracts as early back as last month and his improved four-year deal will also include an option of a further year until 2028 with an announcement expected to be made by the club imminently.
