Manchester United look to accelerate their interest in signing a new striker following the official arrival of Mason Mount.
The Red Devils are reportedly monitoring FC Porto striker Mehdi Taremi, who could be available for around $20 million.
Mehdi Taremi could be an affordable option for United
The latest reports from Portugal have claimed that United could step up their interest in the striker as the summer progresses. It has been reported at JN that the club could be tempted to sell the 30-year-old for just $20 million.
A new central striker remains a high priority for Erik ten Hag after the club revealed that they wouldn’t be making a permanent move for Wout Weghorst. Meanwhile, Anthony Martial’s long-term future at the club is also unlikely.
Taremi enjoyed an excellent season in Portugal last term, as he scored 22 league goals in 33 appearances, and also netted five in seven Champions League outings.
It was the second straight domestic campaign in which the striker scored at least 20 league goals, while he has also registered 30 assists for Porto since the start of the 2020-21 season.
