Liverpool are set to receive an eye-watering $52m transfer offer from Saudi Arabia Pro League side Al Ittihad for Fabinho.
The 29-year-old Brazilian defensive midfielder still has three years left on his contract at Anfield. Still, the Reds are thought to be seriously considering Al Ittihad’s offer which would see Fabinho form a formidable midfield partnership with former Chelsea star N’Golo Kante.
Fabino heavily linked with Saudi Arabia switch
According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Liverpool’s main concern over a deal would be letting their first-choice holding midfielder leave without signing a replacement.
Jurgen Klopp remains in the hunt for Southampton defensive midfielder Romeo Lavia but the Reds are currently in competition with Arsenal and Chelsea for the teenager’s services.
Fabinho was a key player for Klopp last year, making 49 appearances in all competitions, but a drop in form during the middle part of last season could convince the Reds to cash in this summer.
