Newcastle United look set to add to their defensive options, as it has been reported that the Premier League side has agreed to personal terms with AS Monaco defender Axel Disasi.

Newcastle appear to win race for Axel Disasi
The latest reports at Football Insider have claimed that the Magpies have verbally agreed on personal terms with the French defender, and a bid will be made to Monaco over the weekend.
Monaco could be looking for a fee in the region of $50 million, but Newcastle will be looking to get that asking price down to nearer $40 million.
The central defender signed for Monaco from Stade Reims in 2020, and his current deal runs until the end of the 2024-25 season. Manchester United are also reportedly monitoring the situation, and could make a late move for the Frenchman.
