Donny van de Beek has revealed that he still isn’t sure where his future lies. The midfielder spoke candidly to the media following Manchester United’s 1-0 pre-season victory over Lyon in Scotland.
The Dutchman was the match-winner in that friendly, as he scored an excellent volley at Murrayfield on his return to action after suffering a knee injury last season.
Questions remain over Donny Van de Beek future
Van de Beek was quizzed over his long-term future after the match in Scotland, and the BBC has quoted the Dutchman as saying that he finds it ‘hard’ to say where his future lies.
The former Ajax star returned to first-team training at the start of pre-season, and his appearance against Lyon were the first minutes that he has played since missing the second half of the season after picking up a knee injury.
Van de Beek has struggled to cement a place in the United team since moving to Old Trafford in September 2020, and a loan move to Serie A giants AS Roma has been teased.
