MLS outfit Inter Miami have this afternoon confirmed that they have signed Jordi Alba on a free transfer.
The 34-year-old UEFA Champions League and European Championship winner joins ex-Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets in Florida after leaving the Nou Camp as a free agent last month.

The news was confirmed via the club’s official social media profiles and also sees Alba reunited with his former manager Tata Martino as president David Beckham’s Catalan revolution continues this summer.

Alba joins just in time for the start of Inter Miami’s Leagues Cup opener against Liga MX side Cruz Azul but will likely not be match fit until the Herons take on Atlanta United on July 26.
An attack-minded full-back known for his combination with Lionel Messi on the left-hand side, Alba still regularly plays for the Spanish national team as his form shows no sign of winding down in the latter stages of his career.
In the club’s video announcing his arrival, it was also confirmed that Alba will wear the number 18 shirt for the Fort Lauderdale outfit this season- the same number he has donned for Barcelona and Spain since 2012.
