Liverpool have agreed a fee with Saudi Arabia Pro League side Al Ettifaq for club captain Jordan Henderson as Jurgen Klopp’s midfield reshuffle continues.
Henderson, 33, agreed to the move last week before the Reds received a fee from Steven Gerrard’s new club worth around $15.5m after spending 12 years at Anfield following his transfer for $20m in 2011.

The transfer has called into question Henderson’s relationship with the Reds’ LGBTQI+ community with homosexuality still illegal in Saud Arabia. According to Fabrizio Romano, former Liverpool captain Gerrard is now waiting for his former teammate to join him in the city of Dammam ahead of next season which is due to start in less than four weeks’ time.

Henderson already agreed three year deal last week, documents to be checked then time to sign and move to Saudi.

Henderson’s Liverpool teammate Fabinho is set to join his captain out the Anfield exit door after the Reds accepted a $51.6m offer for the Brazilian from Al Ittihad- as the Saudi Arabian Pro League continues to flex its financial muscle this summer.
