Manchester United have officially announced that Bruno Fernandes will be the club’s new captain next season.
The news comes days after Erik Ten Hag stripped central defender Harry Maguire of the captaincy after making only eight Premier League appearances last term.

Today’s announcement, confirmed via the club’s official social media platforms, will not come as a surprise to many Red Devils fans after Fernandes captained the club on most occasions last term.

The Portuguese international has reportedly turned down two separate offers from the Saudi Arabia Pro League this summer and has scored a highly impressive 64 goals from 185 appearances in all competitions since arriving from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon in 2020.
