Manchester United look set to sanction the sale of Fred this weekend, as Galatasaray officials are growing increasingly confident that a deal can be agreed.
According to the Express, officials from the Turkish club landed in Manchester on Thursday, and a fee between the clubs is close to being agreed.
Fred close to Man United exit
Man United will be looking to increase the fee being offered by Galatasaray when discussing the deal with officials. United are looking for a fee in the region of $24 million, with the Turkish club having opened talks with a deal worth a reported $12 million.
The 30-year-old was a key part of Erik ten Hag’s team last season, but the Brazilian is keen to take on a new challenge. Recent reports have claimed that United will be looking at a number of midfield options to replace Fred, with a move for Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat among the options being discussed.
