Manchester United are reportedly weighing up how to act with forward Mason Greenwood amid rumors he will be reintegrated into the squad.
The 21-year-old has now been cleared of all charges after being arrested under suspicion of rape, assault, and threats to kill his girlfriend in January 2022.
Mason Greenwood set to return to United?
Greenwood has been pictured playing football with friends but has yet to return to full-time training with United and is unlikely to be ready to play for the club in time for the beginning of this season which starts in just two weeks’ time.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the decision will be made by the club and not by manager Erik Ten Hag who has remained coy throughout the saga.
Man United are expected to announce decision regarding Mason Greenwood’s future opening PL game of the season on August 14. ⚠️
It’s only up to the club. Erik ten Hag will not be responsible of any decision, he will discuss Greenwood future right after the club. pic.twitter.com/gUTPXLU6rg

The England international is still well short of match fitness having not made a single appearance in over 18 months. Speculation online has suggested that Greenwood will be given a second chance by the Red Devils, who are also in the market for another recognized striker and have identified Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund as their number-one choice.
