Joao Felix has issued a come-get-me plea to Barcelona as he aims to cut his nightmare at Atletico Madrid short this summer.
The Portuguese ace joined Los Colchoneros back in 2019 from boyhood club Benfica for $130m, the fourth-highest sum ever paid in football.
However, his time in the Spanish capital has been an unmitigated disaster. After returning from his loan spell at Chelsea during the second half of last season, Felix has had the number seven jersey stripped off him and has been told to train with the reserves by long-standing Argentinian coach Diego Simeone.
Joao Felix wants Barca move
According to Spanish news outlet SPORT, Felix’s potential move to Catalonia has been given a huge boost by Ousmane Dembele’s prospected transfer to PSG. Barca boss Xavi Hernandez has reportedly been left very disappointed by Dembele’s actions but despite this, the French international has flown with the side to Las Vegas ahead of tonight’s pre-season friendly against AC Milan.
Atletico want a full apology from Felix for openly pursuing a transfer this summer but a quick move would seem beneficial for all parties at this stage.
