Tottenham Hotspur are considering a double swoop for Barcelona pair Franck Kessie and Clement Lenglet if Harry Kane is sold this summer.
As reported by Soccer Times, Bayern Munich and Tottenham still stand $32m apart in their valuation of Kane. However, if a resolution is found, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou could be set to spend the money raised by the sale of England’s captain on his fragile-looking defense according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.
Barcelona duo linked with Spurs switch
Kessie, 26, is thought to want to fight for his place at the Nou Camp but after the arrival of fellow central midfielder Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City, the Ivorian’s first-team opportunities are likely to be limited this season.
As for Lenglet, 28, Spurs are interested in making a permanent offer for the French international after a decent campaign on loan at the Lilywhites last season.
Just as in the case of Kessie, Lenglet is likely to be down the pecking order underneath star center-backs Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, and Jules Kounde- who all contributed to Barca’s first La Liga title since 2019 last term- as well as new summer signing Inigo Martinez from Athletic Bilbao.
