Juventus head coach Max Allegri is very happy with the progress shown by USMNT star Weston McKennie in pre-season.
McKennie provided an assist for USMNT teammate Timothy Weah in Juve’s 3-1 win over Real Madrid in Orlando on Wednesday night. As reported by Goal writer Chris Burton, McKennie could well be given a second chance by Allegri after being shipped out on loan to Leeds United during the second half of last season.
Weston McKennie set for Juventus stay?
Speaking to reporters after the Old Lady’s win on Wednesday, Allegri said of USMNT pair McKennie and Weah, “McKennie had a good game today and I’m very happy. Weah was a bit more tired, but he is a guy who has good qualities and will be very useful for the team.”
The news will be music to the ears of USMNT fans who have long waited for McKennie to flourish into the dynamic box-to-box midfielder he first showed he was capable of being when he joined Juve from Schalke back in 2020.
