Robert Sanchez could become Chelsea’s second signing in 24 hours after passing his medical ahead of his move from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 25-year-old Spanish international will swap the Amex Stadium for Stamford Bridge and provide some well-needed competition for current Blues number-one Kepa Arrizabalaga after Senegalese shot-stopper Edouard Mendy left the club for Al Ahli.
Robert Sanchez becomes next Chelsea signing
Following the news this morning that central defender Axel Disasi completed his move from Monaco for a fee just shy of $50m, Sanchez is expected to become Chelsea’s sixth major transfer of the summer window.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are only nine days away from their eagerly awaited Premier League opener against Liverpool and have enjoyed a good pre-season under their new manager.
Sanchez’s fee is expected to reach $31.7m after the two clubs reached an agreement yesterday. As of yet however, there has been no further progress made between Chelsea and Brighton over the potential move to bring Sanchez’s teammate Moises Caicedo to Stamford Bridge.
