According to reports in the Daily Mail, the Clarets are looking to strengthen their full-back positions this summer.

The club’s transfer strategy has hinged on youthful stars since Vincent Kompany’s arrival, and a move for Alvaro Fernandez is likely to be considered by Man United.

The full-back has played regularly throughout the club’s recent pre-season tour of the United States.

However, his first-team opportunities throughout the season could be limited as Erik ten Hag’s side is well-stocked at right-back and left-back.

The 20-year-old has been at United since signing from Real Madrid in 2020. Fernandez was named on the Man United bench for the first time in April 2022, and he was named the club’s U23 Player of the Year in May 2022.
