Premier League giants Chelsea have agreed a fee with Brazilian side Santos for teenage sensation Deivid Washington.
The total package for Washington will come to $21.9m with Chelsea agreeing to pay up to $16.4m initially for the Brazilian who is set to become Todd Boehly’s seventh major signing of the summer.

Washington is currently contracted with Santos until the summer of 2026 and has already scored twice for the senior team in the league this year. According to Fabrizio Romano, the forward has wanted to move to Stamford Bridge ever since hearing of the Blues’ interest in him and has agreed a long-term deal with Chelsea.

The 18-year-old joins fellow ex-Santos wonderkid Angelo Gabriel in West London after the Brazil under-20 international signed for $19m last month. Washington could now potentially move to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, now managed by former Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, on a season-long loan this season with the final decision set to be up to the player.
