Brighton & Hove Albion have fought off competition from Premier League rivals to complete the signing of Noel Bigo Atom.
Newcastle United were among the clubs in the race to sign the German defender, but the youth star has opted for a move to the Seagulls.
Noel Bigo Atom signs for Brighton
Atom is one of the hottest properties in German soccer, and was attracting interest from a number of big clubs around the continent this summer.
However, the defender has agreed to the proposal put forward by Brighton, according to Fabrizio Romano, and the contract will be signed later this week.
Atom played eight matches across the U19 Bundesliga last term, and played five further matches in the UEFA Youth League.
The 18-year-old is a star for the future, but it is yet another signal of intent from Brighton, who will be looking ahead to their first campaign in Europe in 2023-24.
