Manchester United have accepted a bid worth $38.2m for central defender Harry Maguire from West Ham United.
As reported on Monday, the Hammers submitted an opening bid for the former Red Devils captain which has now been accepted. Maguire made only 16 Premier League appearances last season and is on the lookout for more first-team opportunities to keep his place in Gareth Southgate’s England side ahead of the European Championships next summer.
Harry Maguire set for West Ham switch
David Moyes’ men have the funds available after selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for $132m last month. While Maguire was originally reluctant in uprooting his family from the North West of England in favor of a move to East London, the experienced defender has now agreed a summer move would benefit his career with personal terms not believed to be an issue according to The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell.

Maguire’s departure will now mean United will go back into the market and attempt to sign a replacement central defender with Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo at the top of their shopping list.
