Manchester United central defender Harry Maguire is set for a payout worth $7.7m when he leaves the club for West Ham United.
As reported yesterday, the England international has had a $38.2m offer from the Hammers accepted by the Old Trafford outfit.
Harry Maguire receives leaving payout
According to The Sun’s Neil Custis, Maguire will be rewarded with a leaving package to cover some of the losses he is set to make.
Maguire is reportedly set to lose close to $115,000 a week when he completes his move to UEFA Conference League holders West Ham after already having the captaincy stripped off him by United boss Erik Ten Hag last month.
That hurt Maguire, who was then booed by United fans during the club’s pre-season friendly in Dublin against Athletic Bilbao at the weekend. During the first half, the 30-year-old gifted Inaki Williams the opening goal of the game in what will turn out to be Maguire’s last match for the club.
