Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris is set to leave the club for Serie A side Lazio on a free transfer after 11 years in North London.
The 36-year-old’s departure is set to go under the radar whilst Harry Kane’s long-awaiting transfer to Bayern Munich comes to a conclusion this weekend.
Hugo Lloris set for move to Italian captain
Despite his status as club captain, Lloris has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs under new head coach Ange Postecoglou who decided to bring in a brand new shot-stopper in Guglielmo Vicario earlier this summer as the Australian’s squad reshuffle began.
Lloris joined Tottenham in 2012 from French giants Lyon and made just under 450 appearances for the Lilywhites during his time at the club. According to RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins, Lloris is expected to join Lazio as a free agent once his contract is canceled as a leaving gesture by Tottenham due to his loyal service to the club.

Hawkins also reports Lloris was on a shortlist to replace injured Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer but Los Blancos have decided to go ahead instead in choosing David De Gea– who himself is available on a free transfer after leaving Manchester United last month.
