Chelsea are believed to have won the tug-of-war with Liverpool for the services of Brighton and Hove Albion defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo for a British record transfer fee.
The 21-year-old will complete an extraordinary $145m switch this week after Caicedo accepted an eight-year contract with the option of a ninth at Stamford Bridge.
Moises Caicedo chooses Chelsea over Liverpool
The Brighton star agreed on personal terms with Chelsea back in May. According to Fabrizio Romano, Caicedo has his medical examinations booked for completion at the early stages of this week with the Blues looking to wrap up a deal as soon as possible.

As reported last week, Liverpool agreed a fee for Caicedo but last winter’s World Cup star has decided to choose Stamford Bridge over Jurgen Klopp’s Reds having already given them his word earlier this summer.
Caicedo only missed one match last season for the Seagulls and will become the second Chelsea player to break the British transfer record this year after Enzo Fernandez’s $135.8m move from Portuguese giants Benfica in January.
