Arsenal have finally completed the signing of David Raya from London rivals Brentford as the goalkeeping merry-go-round continues.
Raya, 27, has signed an initial season-long loan with an option to buy in order for the Gunners to meet the stringent criteria set out in the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play Regulations.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Raya’s move will be made permanent as soon as possible with the initial loan costing Arsenal $3.8m and the permanent buy option affording an additional $34.4m.
German champions Bayern Munich had shown an interest in Raya but it was always the former Blackburn Rovers keepers’ intention to stay in London after initially flirting with the idea of moving to Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham.
Speaking to the club’s in-house media team, Sporting Director Edu said, “David is a top-quality goalkeeper, who has consistently performed to a high level with Brentford in the Premier League”.
Raya will wear the number 22 shirt at the Emirates Stadium this season and said of his move, “The way that the club is going, its growing even more so it’s a beautiful challenge to take and I couldn’t say no”.
