Aston Villa are close to agreeing a loan deal for long-term target Nicolo Zaniolo.

The latest reports from Sky Sports have indicated that an agreement is close between Villa and Galatasaray, with the attacking midfielder set to join the club on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.

Aston Villa have stepped up their interest in the Galatasaray midfielder over the last seven days after it was announced that Emi Buendia would be out of action for the season.

Zaniolo has been a player that the Midlands club have been tracking throughout the summer, and a loan switch is now reportedly close.

The reports have indicated that the Italian will travel to Birmingham on Wednesday, before completing his medical to finalize his move to Villa Park.

The 24-year-old signed for Galatasaray from AS Roma in February 2023, and he scored five goals in eleven appearances across all competitions last term.
