Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard could make a shock return to English football despite training with Inter Miami this summer.
The 30-year had been linked with a move to The Herons last month after using Lionel Messi’s side’s facilities in recent weeks but Lingard is aiming to return to the English top tier despite struggling at Nottingham Forest last season.
Jesse Lingard set for West Ham return?
According to The Daily Express’ Joseph Dexter, a potential move to the MLS has died down with Lingard now making use of West Ham’s facilities as he looks to keep his fitness levels up in his attempt to find a new club.
Lingard is no stranger to the Hammers having enjoyed a successful six-month loan period under current manager David Moyes back in 2021. In just 16 appearances, Lingard scored nine goals and provided five assists having joined in January from Manchester United and speculation is gathering he is set to return to East London for a second spell with Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta linked with a move to Manchester City.
