MLS outfit LA Galaxy have signed English forward Billy Sharp as a free agent after he left Sheffield United at the end of last season.
Veteran Sharp, 37, has signed a short-term deal until the end of the 2023 season with the option of a further year after helping the Blades to promotion to the Premier League last season.

Likely to be used as an impact substitute, Sharp brings with him a wealth of experience to California having played almost 700 club matches across a 19-year-long senior career.
Sharp is a hometown hero at Sheffield United and achieved three promotions during his three separate spells at Bramhall Lane, scoring a total of 129 goals in the process for the Blades.
The news was announced via the club’s official social media platforms today and will see Sharp join fellow Englishman Jonathan Bond in the City of Angels.

Speaking of his new signing Galaxy Head Coach and Sporting Director Greg Vanney today said, “Billy is an accomplished striker who brings experience, leadership, and proven goal-scoring pedigree.”
