Manchester City have accepted an undisclosed offer for Spanish international defender Aymeric Laporte from Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.
The 29-year-old has only two years remaining on his current deal at the Etihad Stadium and is reportedly open to the idea of a move to the Gulf State.
Aymeric Laporte set to sign for Al Nassr
As reported by The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Saudi outfit are pushing hard to get a deal done as soon as possible after Cristiano Ronaldo’s side showed their defensive frailties during their 2-1 defeat at Al Ettifaq on Monday.

Laporte, who signed from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, only made 12 Premier League appearances last season for the Cityzens falling behind Manuel Akanji in Pep Guardiola’s defensive pecking order. And the signing earlier this month of Josko Gvardiol– a fellow left-footed center-back- for $99m from RB Leipzig is unlikely to help Laporte’s first-team opportunities at the Etihad Stadium this season.
