Manchester City are set to concentrate on moves for West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta and Rennes wing wizard Jeremy Doku after winning the UEFA Super Cup last night.
Pep Guardiola is looking to strengthen his squad after losing Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez this summer and with potential outgoings to follow before the end of this month, the Catalan has identified Paqueta and Doku to compete on all four fronts again this season.

21-year-old Doku emerged as the club’s first-choice candidate to replace Mahrez after the Cityzens pulled out of the race for Chelsea-bound Michael Olise from Crystal Palace. The Belgian international’s raw pace and talent will remind City fans of Leroy Sane who joined the club in Pep Guardiola’s first season at the club.
As for Paqueta, West Ham manager David Moyes has reportedly slapped a $108m price tag on the Brazilian international and said of his star asset’s future earlier this week, “We’ve had an offer from Manchester City, but at the moment it’s not anywhere near meeting our valuation. There’s a price on everybody’s head, but not anything to make our heads wobble”.
